The Girls Empowerment Movement, Inc. undertakes many community service events throughout the year. One of our hallmark events is Operation Sparkle, an environmental cleanup project for all of our chapters. This program is in keeping with and in support of our alignment with the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. To that end, each year we gather together to for an outdoor clean-up for either spring or fall. In previous Operations, we have cleaned beaches and waterways, and we have encouraged our chapters around the world to clean their local areas and parks.

For Operation Sparkle 2023, we will again meet at Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve in Lloyd Harbor, New York, on Long Island, on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, starting at 10:30 a.m. We will clean the beaches and portions of the park of debris and seasonal detritus.
